Hi guys, my name is Anthony Fennell. I've been guiding students in innovative ways to use technology for a number of years now and I'd like to share with you some of the ways that teachers can effectively use technology in the class. For students, technology is an almost natural part of their lives. Students spontaneously use technology to connect, share and collaborate, especially outside of school. The goal behind technology in learning is to harness this intense engagement and direct our students' phenomenal skills at accomplishing elements of their curriculum.Teachers know that effective learning with technology requires strong pedagogy along with the confidence to let students run at their own pace.
Technology can seem daunting, but together we'll break down some of the common misconceptions and scaffold powerful, engaging lessons that help students succeed both at school and in their 21st Century communities.
Date: Friday 24 May
Location: C5B (MacICT Innovations Centre)
Time: 1pm-3pm
Cost: FREE for MQED members and staff in the School of Education
Topics include: Smart Notebook, Twitter and social media for teachers, Web 2.0 tools and Edmodo
